Simultaneous Translation

In-person simultaneous interpreting involves the real-time oral interpretation of a speaker's speech into another language, using specialized equipment in a shared physical environment.

  • Main Steps

Interpreters are positioned in noise-canceling booths with a clear view of the stage, listen to the speaker via headphones, and transmit the simultaneous translation through microphones to dedicated audio channels. Listeners select their desired language on receivers with headphones, allowing for fluid accompaniment without interruptions to the original speech. Teams work in shifts for extended events, ensuring accuracy and preventing fatigue.

  • Technical Requirements

This requires the installation of acoustic booths or portable equipment, a professional high-fidelity sound system, microphones and individual receivers for the audience, as well as prior testing to eliminate noise and delays. Interpreters prepare thematic glossaries in advance for greater accuracy.

  • Advantages

It facilitates international events with diverse audiences or smaller meetings, maintaining the natural pace of presentations or discussions and promoting linguistic inclusion in large or small in-person conferences.
